The rotating assembly converts combustion into torque. Components here are usually needed after a bearing failure, hydraulic lock or serious overheating, and are almost always supplied alongside machining work rather than on their own.
Reground shafts are matched to undersize bearing shells; the grind and the shells must agree.
Checked for straightness and big-end ovality before reuse; bent rods follow hydraulic lock.
Stretch bolts are single-use — reusing them is a common and expensive shortcut.
A worn ring gear causes the grinding engagement that eventually destroys the starter pinion.
