Engine coolant temperature has exceeded the maximum safe operating limit. Overheating can cause severe engine damage including head gasket failure, piston scoring, and potential engine seizure. This is a shutdown-class fault that requires immediate attention.

Stop the generator immediately to prevent engine damage. Allow it to cool, then check coolant level, inspect for leaks, verify fan operation, and clean the radiator of debris before restarting.
Only once the engine has cooled: never open the cap on a hot engine. In an emergency, clean water can be added temporarily. However, replace with proper coolant mixture as soon as possible to prevent corrosion and provide freeze/boil protection.
