DSE controllers show this as a text alarm on the display, not as a numbered code.
Engine coolant temperature has exceeded the maximum safe limit and the DSE controller has shut down the engine to prevent thermal damage. This fault will lock out the controller until acknowledged. Do not restart until the cooling system is diagnosed.

Yes, severe overheating can cause head gasket failure, warped cylinder head, piston seizure, and other catastrophic damage. Always investigate and repair cooling issues before restarting.
Send us the code or alarm and what the generator is doing, and one of our engineers will help you diagnose it.

A fault code names a symptom, not a cause. Our engineers have written the diagnostic sequence they use on site for this class of fault — ranked causes, ordered steps with the reading expected at each one, and the point at which to stop and call someone.
