Where the sun is decides the geometry. Tharaka Nithi County lies at 0.3°S, so a fixed array here wants about 10° of tilt and, being within half a degree of the equator, gains almost nothing from facing north rather than south. Tilt it for rain run-off and cleaning access instead — that is worth more here than chasing the last percent of yield. A 10° floor is applied regardless, because a panel flatter than that stops shedding dust when it rains, and soiling costs more yield in most of Kenya than tilt optimisation returns.

Inverters derate on their own heat too, which is why enclosure placement matters as much as inverter brand.

Load profile. Tharaka Nithi is a smaller county, and the realistic constraint is usually parts and attendance rather than capacity. Standardising on a well-supported engine family matters more here than squeezing the last percent out of a sizing calculation — a set you can get filters and a fuel pump for is worth more than a marginally better one you cannot.
