DSE controllers show this as a text alarm on the display, not as a numbered code.
The DSE controller has attempted to start the engine but the engine has not reached the preset running speed within the configured start time. This fault will stop the starter motor and prevent further start attempts until the fault is acknowledged and cleared.

Fail to Start means the engine did not reach running speed within the configured number of crank attempts. Check fuel supply, battery voltage, and starter motor operation first. The speed sensor must also detect engine rotation.
DSE controllers typically allow 3 start attempts before locking out with a start fail alarm. This is configurable in the DSE configuration software.
